Presentation in the
Public Speaking Competition
Ideas are very important to us.
With just one single idea we can create a great world.
What are ideas? Ideas are
something that comes to your mind creating a new way of thinking.
Let’s analyze the word:
I comes from imagination. Having imagination is one of the most amazing
gifts we were endowed and with this little thing called imagination we can
create the whole world of an idea.
D is from direction, dedication. We have to know what the ideas are meant
for and then we need dedication to fully put it into practice.
E comes from effect. It has to be something able to achieve a
completely different effect on the world as doing something different than
others and that makes the real difference.
A comes from attitude and that means that having a good attitude
you can become stronger and also can make you not give up when you think nobody
wants your idea.
In fact, our world began with a
single idea. With just one idea, God created a world for us.
That is the first example, but the
passing of the years gave us many other examples.
For instance, Christopher
Columbus –starting from the idea that the planet was round (even though
everyone thought he was crazy), he went to prove that he was right. He had
imagination, then direction sailing around the world and, mostly, dedication to
fulfill his dream. He changed the world and proved he had attitude to support
his idea even though many people discouraged him. At last he succeeded.
Another one is Albert Einstein –with
his ideas created a new way of thinking in the world He had the imagination and
made everyone see and believe his ideas were right.
But, why not take Mihai Eminescu
as an example. With his idea of writing to his lover, he creates a whole world
of poem, but, more important is the fact that he opened not only his lover’s
heart, but the whole nation’s fondness for his writing. Reading his poems, the
people discover the true meaning of love.
Let’s imagine what we can compare
ideas with!
An idea may be compared with a
bud which turns into a marvelous flower and then into a delicious apple. Ideas
are the same. Starting with just one single word, it develops into a full-blown
idea. Eventually, it becomes a life changing.
Moreover, we can compare an idea
with a poem. You start with just one single word and in no time it becomes a
line. Next, a verse and before you know it, you created a truly touching poem.
Ideas are very creative, full of
imagination, full of youthful energy. No wonder that kids come up with the most
amazing ideas. Just to escape the punishment for stealing cherries from his
neighbours’ garden or not helping his mother, we can see Nică from Ion Creangă’s
Childhood Memories creating things or
discover theories that not even Einstein thought about.
Finally, with the image of
glamorous models at the back of our mind, I go on saying that by means of their
ideas, people have the power to build lives. They may try to find ways to
change the world, but it is up to each of us to pick up the ball and run with
it, turning the whole battle of making ideas really work into a battle of
wills. Ideas can create, but also destroy things. They can bring peace, but
also war. They can bring hate, but also love. Ideas can open “doors” both ways.
That’s why, we have to be careful because we can create a new world, a better
one maybe, or, in a blink of an eye, we can destroy it. Let’s choose together the
right thing!
Let’s combine our ideas, let’s attach our flower buds
into just one tree and see them blossoming and making delicious apples. Then we
can say we succeeded. Thus, the word IDEA
becomes IDEAS with Success as the final reward: a New World where the strongest ideas are real weapons to
make the world a better place to live in.
